How Inforegister, Storybook, 1Contact and Kreedix Use Data
An explanation of how the purposes, data use and visibility differ across business-information, customer-relationship and claims-management services
Inforegister, Storybook, 1Contact and Kreedix form part of a related service environment, but their core functions are different. Accordingly, the purposes of processing, the data used, the user view and whether a natural person is displayed as a separate profile also differ.
Overview of services, solutions and opportunities available to companies: https://voimalused.inforegister.ee/
1. Core roles of the services
| Service | Primary purpose | Separate personal profile? | Is the company the central object? | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Inforegister | Business information and description of business relationships between companies and persons | Yes | Yes | Company and personal profiles, roles, ownership, history, business network, company risks and financial information |
| Storybook | Presentation of company and business-related information in a content and visibility context | Yes, in a business-relationship context | Yes | Company digital profile, business roles, related content and company visibility |
| 1Contact | Customer-facing B2B CRM and company contact database | No separate public personal profile | Yes | Company CRM record, company contacts and customer communication |
| Kreedix | Claims management and debt collection | Not merely because of a business relationship | Yes, in the context of a procedure | Claims, debt management and, where necessary, company and representative data related to the procedure |
2. Inforegister
The core purpose of Inforegister is to aggregate and structure business information and to show the legal and economic relationships between companies and the persons connected with them.
What information about a person is processed in Inforegister?
- name and identifying data necessary for reliable identification;
- personal identification code and date of birth;
- management-board member, shareholder, founder, beneficial-owner and other business roles;
- start and end dates of roles and business history;
- company-related contact and registry data;
- business relationships between the person and companies, including the business network.
What Inforegister does not do
- Inforegister does not assign a separate consumer credit score to a natural person.
- A company credit score, reputation score, financial indicators and risk indicators remain company-level indicators even when they are displayed in a view connected with a person associated with the company.
- A personal profile is not a private-life dossier; it is a view of business relationships.
3. Storybook
Storybook uses business-related data to present the commercial context of a company and the persons connected with it. The purpose is to describe the company’s digital profile, visibility and business roles, not to profile the private life of a natural person.
In Storybook, a person may be shown in connection with a company where the person is or has been a management-board member, shareholder, founder, beneficial owner or holder of another official business role. The relationship derives from business information and the person’s role in relation to the company.
- Company-related personal data is linked to the relevant business role and company profile.
- Company indicators do not become personal risk indicators of a natural person in Storybook.
- Restricting the visibility of a personal profile does not automatically erase accurate management, ownership or historical information from the company context.
4. 1Contact
1Contact is a CRM and contact environment for companies and customers. Its central object is the company and the business customer relationship connected with that company.
Typical data use in 1Contact includes the company name, registry data, company contact details, customer-relationship information and information required for business-to-business communication.
5. Kreedix
The core function of Kreedix is claims management and debt-collection work. Processing of a person’s data in Kreedix does not arise automatically merely because the person has a personal profile or a business relationship in Inforegister.
Personal data of a natural person is processed in Kreedix where, in the context of a particular company’s claim or debt-collection procedure, the person’s role is relevant to that procedure and there is a specific purpose and legal basis for the processing.
- a company may be the subject of a claim or debt-collection procedure in Kreedix;
- data relating to a management-board member or other representative is used where necessary for conducting the procedure;
- the existence of an Inforegister personal profile does not mean that the person is a debtor or a debt-collection subject in Kreedix.
6. The same data source does not mean the same use
The source of core data used across several services may be the same, for example the Estonian e-Business Register or another official business-information source. The use of the same source data in different services does not mean that the data is used for the same purpose or displayed in the same way in every service.
| Data type | Inforegister / Storybook | 1Contact | Kreedix |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company registry data | Presentation of business information and relationships | CRM and customer relationship | Claim or procedure context |
| Management-board member information | Showing the business relationship between the company and person | Where needed, company contact/representation context | Where the representative’s role is necessary for the procedure |
| Personal identification code / date of birth | Reliable identification and correct person-company matching | Not used as the basis of a separate public personal profile | Only where necessary for a specific procedure |
| Company credit and risk indicators | Company analysis and description of business risk | Not a core CRM function | May be relevant at company level when assessing a procedure |
| Historical business relationships | Yes, as part of business history | Not a primary focus of the service | Only where relevant to the procedure |
7. Registry data and official sources
Business information in Inforegister and related services is based to a significant extent on official registry data and other lawful business-information sources. These include, in particular, the Estonian e-Business Register, Official Announcements, public state data and other lawful business-information sources.
It is important to distinguish between official registry data, registry data services and downloadable open-data files. The contents of downloadable open-data files may change over time. For example, since 1 November 2024 the downloadable open-data files of the e-Business Register no longer contain personal identification codes. This does not mean that the personal identification code is no longer an identifying data field in the official data services of the e-Business Register.
8. Restricting personal-profile visibility across services
Restricting the public visibility of a personal profile primarily concerns the public availability of the separate personal profile. It does not automatically mean that all underlying data is erased from every service.
- In Inforegister and Storybook, accurate management, ownership and historical information may remain in the context of the company profile.
- In 1Contact, the company CRM record remains where there is an ongoing customer-relationship or B2B purpose for retaining it.
- In Kreedix, processing may arise or continue on the basis of a separate claim or debt-collection procedure.
9. Quick overview

Summary: the fact that the services are related does not mean that the same data processing takes place in each of them. Inforegister and Storybook describe business information and business relationships, 1Contact is a company- and customer-relationship-based CRM, and Kreedix processes data in the context of claims and debt collection.
